The “Europäische Bildungsinitiative” (EBI), or the European Initiative for Education (EIE), is a distinguished Non-Profit Education and Training Association based in Wiener Neustadt, Austria. Its mission revolves around promoting innovative educational, training, and cultural methodologies, primarily focusing on adult learners and professionals in Adult Education. The EBI consists of three main departments: a training unit, a technical unit specialized in multimedia content and learning platforms, and a specialized research group. The organization boasts a dedicated team comprising 5 trainers, a 3-member administrative board, additional administrative staff, and two researchers. All members contribute voluntarily, receiving compensation only for specific teaching or project-related activities. The team is well-versed in ICT, project management, eLearning, Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL), Distance Learning, Open Learning, and Blended Learning, with proficiency in English at a minimum C1 level. EBI’s activities include developing specialized training courses, exploring new teaching and learning methods, and participating in international projects to share knowledge and research findings. Over the past decade, the association has educated approximately 700 learners, published several books, and contributed to international conferences. EBI has actively participated in various Lifelong Learning Program (LLP) projects, including Grundtvig Learning Partnerships and a significant Grundtvig Project, showcasing its expertise in Blended Learning and multimedia content. It also leads the Erasmus+ “Flipped Adult Education” project. The association maintains robust connections across Europe with educational institutions, Adult Education providers, and universities, ensuring a collaborative network that enriches its educational and research endeavours.
