Educators & organisations

For educators and trainers

This page is for adult educators, trainers, community workers and organisations that support people aged 55+. BonJour offers ready-to-use materials to work on media literacy, digital skills and simple journalism tools with older learners.

You do not need to be a media expert: the resources are designed step by step and tested with adults 55+ in five countries.

What you can find in BonJour!

Handbook & Guidelines

A handbook with methods, examples and guidelines for working with adults 55+ on media literacy, digital skills and simple journalism.

Ready-to-use activities

Structured activities and worksheets based on real media cases, ready to use in face-to-face groups or blended learning.

Learning platform

Digital units on the BonJour platform that you can use in class or assign as self-study, with simple language and clear tasks.

Practical tools

Templates, checklists and reflection questions to support planning, delivery and evaluation of your courses.

Why these resources matter for your practice

Older adults often receive a large amount of information online but have few opportunities to discuss it in a structured way. At the same time, educators may lack time and specialised tools to design media literacy activities for this age group.

BonJour resources are based on research in six countries and align with adult education and digital competence frameworks. They help you save preparation time, offer high-quality activities that respect older learners’ rhythm, and make it easier to address sensitive topics such as disinformation, manipulation and ageism in the media.

How to use BonJour in your teaching

You can integrate BonJour in different ways, depending on your context:

As a complete course

Follow the curriculum and combine the handbook, activities and platform units to run a full training on media literacy and journalism for adults 55+.

As modules or workshops

Select individual topics, such as “checking sources” or “telling your story”, and add them to your existing courses or community activities.

As blended learning

Use the BonJour platform for self-study or homework and discuss the activities in your face-to-face sessions, so that learners can practise in their own time.

The Media Educator for the Elderly

The project defines a new professional profile: the Media Educator for the Elderly. This role combines digital, media, pedagogical and communication competences to support older adults in a respectful and inclusive way.

On the Results page you can find the profile description, competences and curriculum. You can use them to plan your own professional development, to design staff training or to recognise this role within your organisation.
